SAN ANGELO – Prior to the swearing-in Naturalization Ceremony, the Honorable Magistrate Judge John R. Parker told the magnificent seven immigrants soon-to-be U.S. citizens that nearly half the Fortune 500 was founded by immigrants.
A new analysis of the 2025 Fortune 500 list reveals that 46.2 percent of America’s largest companies (231 out of 500) were founded by immigrants or their children, info per https://www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org
Several major American corporations with these roots include:

  • Apple (founded by Steve Jobs, the son of a Syrian immigrant).
  • Google / Alphabet (co-founded by a Russian immigrant whose name is Sergey Brin).

Judge Parker also stated. “One-third of our doctors are now growing. Legal immigration in this country represents six trillion dollars.”
Among the Magnificent seven was Dr. Sanjay Shashikant Patel, and his lovely wife, Nitaben both who decided to make it a “two-for-one” ceremony. Dr. Patel, an MD is employed at Shannon Urgent Care West.
How great was this day for you and your wife to become U.S. citizens together? “I feel as happy as I was on the day of our engagement, and wedding. So, it is a great feeling after a long, long time” Patel said.
When Dr. Patel came to the United States 18 years ago, he was an intern in the residency program that offered an H-1B visa.
The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant U.S. visa that allows American companies to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations that require theoretical or practical application of highly specialized knowledge per https://www.google.com/
