SAN ANGELO –Casey Sisk, former decorated eight-time PRCA Turquois Circuit Finalist in steer roping and bronc riding, one among many of his collegiate titles, and now the head coach of the Angelo State University rodeo team, hosted the first, “rodeo” pun intended, inaugural National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association under his charge. ASU’s inaugural rodeo was held in the Outdoor Fiesta Arena at the San Angelo Fairgrounds.
Casey’s other prestigious awards included the 2003 New Mexico Rodeo Association Rookie of the Year at the collegiate level. In 2005, Sisk was named the CNFR Reserve National Champion Bull Rider and the 2005 National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) Central Plains Region Champion Bull Rider according to his bio.
Sisk and his ASU 35-member rodeo team’s NIRA event coincided with the rich, traditional Cinch Roping Fiesta over the four day-weekend, October 23-26, 2025. The Roping Fiesta is considered the “Crown Jewel. “Angelo is a rodeo town,” said Sisk who was extremely excited to get the inaugural one going.
One of Sisk’s members, Freshman Ridley Timberlake scored a 3.9 in the breakaway Friday night, October 24 to have her splitting 3rd, 4th and 5th. In the Goat tying competition, Miss Timberlake earned reserve champion breakaway roper to place 6th.

“West Texas Rain”
I have been restless
I have been reckless
I’ve been a strain on my mom’s heart
I’ve been a drunk
I’ve been a dreamer
Pulling the strings on this old guitar
I’ve found a few answers
I’ve still got questions
Kept it together and fallen apart
I got secrets and stories
Old shoebox memories
And choices that I’d like to change
Teardrops and laughter
And me chasing after
Years that go as quick as they came
Like a west Texas rain
Like a west Texas rain
